Barriemore Barlow....... so many memories..........
I could say that the album Bursting Out is the reason that I play the drums .
My older brother were really in to Jethro and when I heard that drum solo , I knew my purpose on this planet .
I learned all those clasic albums but I haven't heard them in years because I don't have a turntable.
Barlow is my favorite Tull drummer. I did a clinic with Doane Perry in 2001 in Mexico, and he is a fantastic player but.... Barlow is Barlow.
I'd like to hear what is he doing these days... any update?

Fuse wrote:<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I agree... Shall we say... Hummm... Barriemore is another overlooked-unsung hero? I think so...killer fills, beyond Peart & a lot of other cats who were highly & popularly regarded as "the guys" back then.

I hope it's a joke and that Barrie hasn't fell so much into oblivion that he has to play drums over "controlled anal voicings" in order to survive...!?!?
That would be SOOOO sad...
I think he's also the guy's manager...
At least he's making a living...
It appears to be a big joke ...some of "their" [so-called] humor ]...Tull always were deemed a bit "eccentric"...
However, how many of us would want something like
that linked to our playing?!
Have another there, Barrie!

......I never expected that... [img]graemlins/broken_heart.gif[/img]
That site is a stab at Ian.
You have to understand the antipathy
he has for him.

Does anyone have a copy of 'Barrie's' TANDOORI CASSETTE that he recorded in 1981 ?? I think he only recorded a demo that's circulating around somewhere, i'd love to get my hands on it!
One thing for sure, if he keeps grinding this way with the past and refuses to move on, Barriemore's hurting himself more than he's hurting Ian Anderson.
Interesting read from Jethro Tull's Summary of their DVD "A New Yesterday The 25th Anniversary Collection" They had a Band Reunion with past members. Click Here to access it The following quotes were taken from the site.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Ian Anderson on the DVD as well as the reunion:"reclusive but not dead Barriemore Barlow"
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">"In the heady, smoky, funky cloisters of a London Public House of ill-repute, the past and present members of Jethro Tull were gathered together for the first time ever (two football teams-worth of ne'r -do-wells) and actually spoke civilly to each other and reminisced on times and tunes gone by. A few tense moments were anticipated when some band members met their old sparring partners but all lived up to the gentlemenly reputation which marks the extended family of Tull. Agents, tour managers and pals joined the throng and were interviewed with the benefit of an ale or three. Since Chrysalis Records were paying, most of the guys managed a word or ten."
